mail server - an application that receives incoming e-mailfrom local users (people within the same domain) and remote servers and forwards outgoing e-mail for deliveries.
router - They determine where to send information from one computer to another. Routers are mostly specialized software, it's also alot faster and better especially if you have a laptop because it's wireless can adapt to the router so you can be anywhere in the house and you will have internet access.
Switch - is a component within computing network. A switch has a nuimber of ports and it stores the addresses of all network devices that are directly or indirectly connected to it on each port
LAN - Local Area Network, When the computers are fairly close to one another say, in a single office or two buildings that are separated by a road, they can be joined together either by cables or wireless means.
WAN - Wide Area Network, Many modern companies have offices, shops or factories in various locations around the country, and for large corporations, across the world. Even though staff work in different places, they often need to be able to access the same information no matter where they are.
Browsers - The basic functions of a web browser is to allow you to view text, images, videos from other web pages. There are a numerous amount of web browsers around such as; Internet Explorer, Netscape and Firefox however Google is not a web browser.
Email clients - Are software's such as Microsoft Outlook, Windows Mail, Mozilla Mail and many more. They keep most of your emails and can also provide you with sending emails as well.
